Update – March 2024

Hello. I’m doing my best to focus on writing and not on allowing this wp to become too personal. However, I wanted to start sharing information so that when something really important happens, it won’t end up being my first information sharing post.

Currently I am editing stories for my adult rated writing pseudonym. I had approximately 150 stories posted at an adult literature site, but they were almost twenty years old in some cases. They didn’t reflect my current abilities, and needed a lot of updating. I also want to make them into mini novels and sell them on Smashwords and Amazon if possible. I could appreciate some sleeping income using the works that I cut my teeth on.

I recently posted a story called Draw Down the Moon. I had thought it would be considered an adult story; however, upon editing, I realized it is not adult…not by any means. It’s quite PG so I decided to share it here. It’s a nice enough story, not award winning or anything. It took effort to write, more effort to edit, so I wanted to find a home for it. Here it is.

I was submitting stories in the months of January and February of 2024, pretty regularly. They were rejected but I’m not too surprised. Writing is a skill that needs to be exercised, and my muscles are flabby, shall we say. I don’t take such rejections personally. The internet is quite flooded with authors, so critics have the room to be very choosy. For me, it’s the habit-forming stuff that I need to do. I need to get used to how to submit, what the process can entail, and how many different areas there are to submit to. Not all submissions will get money; some get other things like credit. That’s pretty important. And some submissions are just for the sake of submitting. It’s my way of saying “I think I can…oh look, I just did.”

What is rejected will be reworked and resubmitted elsewhere, or shared here. I recently wrote a story about a little girl and a crocodile; I realized it wasn’t terrifying at all, but not til after it had been rejected. I’ll edit it soon and share it to a podcast I follow. If they don’t take it, then I will post it here. If they do take it, I’ll post it here once it’s no longer exclusive to them.

I have been watching a great deal of Kdrama. I wish I could sign up or join one of their writing or publishing houses. They still sell books in Korea, and they still take on authors, wrangle them, if you will. And pursue their authors to make more stories. I could use that. I really could.
